The situation was getting more desperate the longer they stayed. She drew her sword, fighting and defending the demons that surrounded them. There would be no positive for them if they stayed.
"No, he-" Alexandra was cut off by a stray demon's claw raked down her side, immediately drawing blood. She cried out and slew the demon with a side swipe from her broad sword. She raised her shield once more and clasped her hand over it, healing herself.
"Hiro, we can't..." A high pressure downdraft came down on them, clearing the smoke and making their attackers pause a moment. Alexandra whirled around and wrapped her arms around his waist in a tight grip, then pushed off as hard as she could, launching them into the air. "stay here..."
Moving to the air wasn't the best option; the demons still had thier ranged attacks and there were still a few undead dragons roaming about. Alexandra muttered a prayer and the light shifted around them- rather than blinding, it made them invisible. That didn't stop the potential lethality of the shots still after them though.
"Comon! We have to go!"

With a grunt Hiro impaled on last demon before they turned invisible, Hiro took advantage and raised himself to the air. "Thanks again... Jeeze there's got to be a way to end this..." Then he contacted Arrow Tooth to see how the fight was going.
"We've stopped gaining ground , the horde is gettin thicker and the men are gettin knackered! Bloody pests are everywhere! We're getting more casualties too! Poor bastards are gettin ripped to shreds..."
Hiro cursed the demons and this day. "Fall back to the Druid's Keep, you should be safe there," Hiro told his second in command. "Aye sir!"
"Well," Hiro told Alex, "The Fir Bhlg are losing ground, I've ordered them to fall back to the Keep so they can rest," he stopped for a moment and checked the status of the city, "the city is holding thankfully, they are well fortified. However neither unit can hold for much longer. We need to find a way to turn the tide of this battle..." A Flying demon almost flew into Hiro, who managed to duck.
"It's not safe, we need to find a place to regroup... Follow me, there are forests nearby that Luvaran and I took refuge in when the angels attacked. It should help keep us hidden and if the trees are still there I can borrow some energy."
The wolf man began to fly towards the trees, thankful that most of the vast forest had managed to stay in tact, even the nearby lake where the boy first felt Nature's Call had only evaporated a little.

Alexandra was glad he took his own flight, but keeping them invisible was slightly more difficult. She looked him over while he talked to his second in command. They were both mud spattered and caked with blood and sweat and Lord knew what else. The thought of how long she could maintain this form also crossed her mind. They needed to get hidden before she could drop it, since light manipulation was not in her repertoire of regular abilities.
They also needed to figure out a way to finish this. The book needed to be destroyed. Sirigoth probably didn't have it on him if he wasn't using it against Zephius.... But musing needed to wait until they reached the ground.
She nodded. "I'll follow you..."

Hiro landed with a thud and sliced a demon in half before flinging knives through others. There were no people in this area, so the demons were not necessary.
"Let your spell go, we're safe here," said the youth as he and Tempest separated, "we need a plan. Its only a matter of time before the demons overwhelm the angels with numbers, then Zephius will have to try and fight Sirigoth and the demons and I don't think even he can handle that. There's got to be a way to close those portals. After that I can have the Fir Bhlg route them and Sirigoth will probably stop fighting."
Tempest groaned, "Right... So we need to know whats going on in the Void... do you think Luvaran knows?"
Hiro thought that it might be a good idea... but he also knew Luvaran couldn't just keep coming to the mortal plane whenever they needed an answer. Hiro was already begining to think if there was a way for Luvaran to come back... Hiro did so why not?
"Not now," said Tempest, "We need a plan, Alex what do you think about this?"

Alexandra touched down on to the ground and dropped to her normal form. Her hair tumbled back down and the wings vanished from her back. She laid down in the grass, feeling almost motion sick. After a afew moments of regulating her breathing to clear her head, she looked up at him.
"He probably has an idea..." She shook her head. "But we can't just call him whenever..." Her eyes closed and she grimaced.
"But I have a thought... We need to get the book of Forlyn... And from the way Sirigoth is fighting, he probably doesn't have it. He'd be using it against Zephius otherwise..." Alexandra sat up, feeling a little better, but very tired.
"We need to gather up and head into the big portal... And find the book."

"I don't know where Arion went... We might have to do it without him... As long as Sirigoth is fighting Zephius we might be able to get the book without having to fight too much," said Hiro.
"Sirigoth probably won't be expecting such a bold move... we might have an edge if we strike quickly. But we'll need to try and fly above the clouds," said the wolf.
Hiro sat against a tree and let nature seep in to him. His wounds began to heal up a little and his energy was slowly recovering. He raised a hand and let his healing magic flow to Alex as well.
"Consider this a thanks for keeping me alive."

Sirigoth grinned, for deep down he was truly enjoying fighting someone who was his equal. The Demon Lord watched as the Angel charged at him, shield held forth like a bright talisman to dispel the darkness that he had wrought upon the realm. Reaching deep Sirigoth used his power to give him self a quick overall boost. Dodging out of the way Sirigoth whirled around hurling a large ball of fire at the Angel who had charged past him. As he had spun around his magic wards had sprung up, warding off most of the magic that was as old as he was. A light tingle was all that he felt. Pulling away in the air a bit he pulled back so he could see the three glowing forms. "You have always been entertaining Zephius, I will give you that. But come, we know I will win, you have gotten soft in your blissful home. Run off back to your ''paradise'' and let us be done with this waste of time."
Down beneath the Warlock watched the lull in the fight, smiling a little deep within his hood. He had seen the pair of heroes dissipate, but he had still felt their presence leave. While he had not been able to see them precisely, there was simply no way that such powerful magic users could simply vanish to someone as adept as him. But the pair had fallen back, that was all that mattered now. Silently he communicated with the Demonic horde, urging them forward, teasing them with the promise of Angelic blood. Now moving to the front the Warlock and his students pushed their way into the city. Aelb would not be able to hold out much longer.

Zephius raised their shields to block the fire balls, the one who had been fighting Sirigoth hand to hand took the most burn, but the glorious God would not be taken out easily. He summoned his healing powers and the burns began to fade, his skin becoming as flawless as before.
"Sirigoth my son, you know you cannot defy me.... You poor lost soul, clearly you have gone mad in the presence of my beauty," said the Angel Lord.
The angels quickly moved to surround the demon and began hurling bolts of light with their hands, swords and spears. The disgusting illness that was demons needed to be purged.
Meanwhile the angels began to fall back and fortify the city itself. Bolts of light shot out in every direction and flashes of light shot off.
The commander sent his telepathic message out and more angels rose to send out rays of light.
Some angels stayed back to recover, waiting the orders for their strike. They would save their ace until it was completely necessary.

His serpentine eyes narrowed. Arion stood quickly, and spun his halberd above him while stretching.
"Now is the time!", Arion growled out. He had watched the man begin to move, and he saw his comrades leave the battlefield, and new they'd need time. The demonic horde could have began a search for them or perhaps were already close to them... so they needed a diversion...
"I won't let you..." he growled.
He knelt low to the ground and locked his eyes on the back of the man that Hiro had targeted earlier. Arion ran a finger along the scythe-like end of his halberd and sprinted. This whole time he had been careful to keep his power hidden. He had only fought in melee combat and stressed keeping himself cloaked and shadowed - his retreat, he hoped, would make it seem like he had been defeated or perhaps retreated from the battle entirely.
He weaved back and forth through the demonic horde, his lips whispering a spell.
"Let power floweth freely through her blood red body, I ask of you whom are born of creation to lend my comrades and I aid in our time of need! Bloodmoon Replication!" he whispered.
The sky above darkened into a pitch black. A red full moon hung there like a macabre stain of spilled blood upon the sky. Arion's body suddenly pulsed with power and energy. His speed, strength, senses... all of it nigh doubled.
At this, he closed in at an alarming rate - even to him. Soon he was in range of his target, and he jumped high into the air, raising his halberd above him. He used the black sky above to his advantage as well, knowing it would cause confusion and chaos... but also because he knew it would hide his shadow.
He swung his halberd down into the man and kicked off of the ground, blindsiding counterclockwise.
"Lightfire!" yelled Arion as he swung his halberd, a ball of pure static energy shooting towards his target. He knew he had to be fast, his opponent sure as hell wouldn't wait.
"Burning Whirlwind!" he spun his halberd above him and his wings erupted from his back. He kicked up a powerful whirlwind with his wings and the spinning motion of the halberd, and set it alight, then directed it towards the cloaked target.
"Let's finish this, Lionheart Strike!", he sprinted into the whirlwind and used it as a barrier against incoming attacks and spells while he closed in to melee range again. As soon as he entered range, he began his eighteen-hit combo and ended it with his back to the target, spinning his halberd and resting it across his shoulders.
It's blade glowed orange from it's fast movement and magical use with fire. Arion wondered if the light magic that the spear - which he had gotten off of an angel in what seemed like a long time ago - which forged the shaft and pike end of the halberd had actually added to the effect against demons or something... But he didn't have time to worry about that. He didn't even look back to see if a single one of his attacks had hit, he just rushed ever forward and disappeared into the other side, in another treeline, of the slowly-widening ravine that the demonic horde was traveling through.

The Warlock could sense a great power unfolding around him, but before he could divine from which direction it came from the Halberd had already hit him. The Warlock screeched in agony as the Halberd cut deep into his shoulder knocking him to his knees, one hand clutching at the deep wound. Pain clouded his vision, dulling his senses and his mind. Suddenly his mind was clear, he could sense the magic building behind him. Whirling about, his staff now clutched tightly in his damaged arm, he barked out a few command words, raising his hand he launched his own ball of flames to match that of the static attack. As soon as the attacks met, causing a massive explosion that shook the ground a fiery gust of wind was rocketing toward him. Bringing his staff before him, the orb that sat on its top glowed a fiery red, lending his strength to his wards, protecting him from the attack, leaving his skin a little flushed. Growling angrily he watched as the blur of the man came at him. "I dont think so," he whispered, eying the glowing axe. Calling upon his magic he phased out of the realm, leaving the man swinging at nothing but black mist. As soon as he appeared in the Void he cast the spell, barking out the words trying to bring himself back in time to crush this bug. But the spell was not quick enough, he watched in furry as the man flew away. Quickly he reached into the mans mind forcing his voice inside his head. "I will destroy you Arion Casea," leaving with the words the raw anger that filled him. As the man Vanished into the trees, the Warlock filled the minds of three thousand Demons, "Hunt that man down! Burn everything in your path!" The Warlock smiled half heartedly as three thousand of his strongest monsters scattered off in search of the young Dragon boy. What they lacked in speed, they made up for in determination. They would hunt down the boy, even if he ran to the ends of the earth, and when they did, he would be there.
Above the battle field, Sirigoth roared in anger, his flames lancing out in all directions to meet the bolts. However there were simply to many and he was forced down a bit. Sirigoth dropped lower and lower until he hit the ground, in the center of his Demonic legion. He eyed the Angel's, waiting for them to make the next move.

Deep within the bowels of the Druid's Keep Luvaran's shade stirred. He could feel all of the destruction being wrought upon Ira. He had watched sadly as the three Champions of Ira had been forced to pull back. He had seen Hiro's reckless charge, Alex's brave rescue, and Arion's unseen protection of the pair. Concentrating, pushing past the Demonic energy he managed to put one, simply image into the elf girls head, along with a name. "Drendil" Then he was forced once more back within the keep. This was all the help he could give the champions, for even his magic and the power of the keep could not penetrate the Demonic hordes power for long. If they needed help, they would need to go to him. Angrily, and frustrated the Druid fell back into the shadows of the keep, watching events unfold.

Alexandra looked towards the explosive forces.
"There he is..." Alexandra breathed, frustrated he was in the opposite direction. "Arion..."
She stood up and took a step in the direction he had disappeared. The amount of demons following him would surely kill him alone. Before the elven girl could say or do anything more, Luvaran's magic touched her mind, leaving an image of a tall dark armored man and his name. She shivered, the magic familiar. Alexandra reached out to Hiro, grabbing his sleeve.
"Drendil..." She breathed, studying this new picture. "Hiro... Luvaran thinks we could get Drendil's help... He mentioned him in the Keep while I was there... Now I 'see' him..."

The angels needed to make this horde slow. And they knew just how to do it. The front line angels began to glow and ascend, the archers continued their fire to cover this move. Soon the ascending angels were covered in shining orbs of light and began crashing down in explosions of light. The angelic bombardment began, and with luck they would push back the demonic horde.
The angel lord smiled as his children brilliantly began to fight harder, most likely inspired by their lord's glorious battle."
"You see Sirigoth? My children know no ends of fighting. This will be my kingdom and in your invasion you are only making it ripe for my grand hand to pluck its fruit, reviving it with its radiant light."

"Drendil," repeated Hiro. The name seemed familiar, and he recalled the dark figure who had watched him in the Fir Bhlg, the man who he gleamed in Aylin's mind after the battle for the North.
"Very well," said Hiro, "If he we have him and Arion perhaps we can penetrate the Void. It's a long shot, however most of Sirigoth's forces are focused on the fight at hand, even his second in command is here... Infiltration shouldn't be too difficult as long as Zephius continues his battle..."
He looked to Aelb and saw the flashing lights, knowing full well the power and fury of the attack, "Looks like the angels are going all out," said Tempest.
The emerald eyed youth nodded, still even with the Sirigoth here, they needed someone to keep the Warlock busy, it seemed Arion was way ahead of that.
"Arion..." Hiro's mind reached out, the dragon in his blood calling to its kin, "Alex and I have a plan, it's risky and depends very much on the cooperation of the warrior from Fir Bhlg, but we intend to infiltrate the Void and attempt to destroy the book. We need you to keep the Warlock distracted long enough for us to get out of Aelb. When we're out I'll order a quick guerilla strike to try and cover you and rendezvous with us near the Southern Continent. Unless you prefer to stay here and fight. Regardless, it appears this is our only hope."
Hiro drew his sword and nodded to Tempest, "Let's dance!" they seemed to say to each other. Hiro's armor had restored most of his energy, hopefully he could gain more on his journey.
"We should move now while the angelic bombardment is still strong, it will give us more cover without me having to call out my warriors," he told the elf girl.

Sirigoth laughed at Zephius and his Angel's foolish attempts to push back both he and his Demonic Legion. His voice ringing deeply he yelled out, "Don't be a fool Zephius, You have barely even scratched me, and this pathetic attempt to send us back to the void will amount to nothing but your own doom. You cannot win and you know it!"
By the front of the city, were the fighting was hardest stood the Warlock, his magic leading that of the Demons. The Angels had employed a powerful trick indeed, but it was nothing that they could not handle. Throughout the battle field magic of all shapes and sizes collided with the falling forms of the Angels smashing into them with a mighty crash. There was no question that the Angels power was raining down hard upon the Demonic forces, however, were one fell, three more rose to replace it. The tide would never end. All around the Demons pushed hard. Mighty, powerful Dragons attacked from the sky, raining down their powerful magic. Lighter more agile flying demons launched into their angelic counterparts, fighting furiously. On the ground, huge lumbering monsters of all shapes and sizes pushed their way through the ranks, launching into the Aelb's lines. Throughout the city hundreds of small agile demons moved above, swooping in with small but deadly poison barbs, launching a chilling volley before retreating back into the shadows. The dark thick smoke of the burning buildings did nothing but help the Demonic horde, sheathing them in darkness, protecting them from prying Angel and Human eyes.
