Character Leveling Up
When you do a good job posting, we the admins will reward you with experience. This experience used to upgrade abilities/characters.
TENTATIVE LEVELING GUIDE : You will level every 500 xp. Xp will be given at Admin's disgression. Typically speaking a series of good posts in a hard thread/quest will reward you with 100 xp.
Level is taken in to account for diffulty, for example if you are a high level character doing an easy quest, you will get significantly less experience. If you fail your quest, you still can get some depending on how well you posted. If you are a lower level character questing with higher level characters, you had best make yourself useful or you will not be getting much of the precious XP.
Your character may be upgraded to have
2 additional tier 1’s
5 additional tier 2’s
1 additional tier 3
1 additional tier 4
These upgrades are doled out as follows;
Level 1; Nothing you just started GTFO
Level 2; Still nothing cuz you’re a newb
Level 3; You’ve learned a valuable lesson in patience. You may learn a Tier 2.
Level 4; You’ve learned world experience congratulations. You are a leader of men. Weaker men than yourself.
Level 5; You get an ability upgrade AND another tier 2. Congratulations.
Level 6; Look at you. Aren't you spiffy. You’re level 6. More patience is required.
Level 7; You can learn a Tier 3, because Adam feels you should be rewarded. I don’t but hey, gotta agree to disagree.
Level 8; You’re in for a treat. You get another Tier 2 after just learning a Tier 3. See, I can be nice.
Level 9; MORE PATIENCE IS REQUIRED!!!!!!
Level 10; YAAAAAAAAAY You get two things. An Ability upgrade, AND a Tier 1. YAAAAYYYY
Level 11; A statue may be erected in your awesome honor somewhere in the world where you have been instrumental in stuff.
Level 12; Spawn more Overlords
Level 13; You must construct additional pylons.
Level 14; A Tier 2 for you. And so humans don’t feel left out. Supply depots required.
Level 15; Aren't you so cool. You’ve managed to make it to level 15. Are you cheating? I call shenanigans. But for those of you who aren’t cheating, you get 1 Ability Upgrade. Also, cuz I’m nice you can have your extra Tier 4. Just be glad my bottle of Jack said to do it.
Level 16; You need to try harder and you, “Wrack a Diwcipwen.”
Level 17; Your final tier 2, that’s five of them. That’s all you get you greedy bastard.
Level 18; Because we’re running out of levels you can get your final tier 1.
Level 19; It’s a surprise. Also, start to think about your life and where it is headed. No seriously, we need your submission for your final destinies.
Level 20; Congratulations, you’re either dead or a demigod. Either way, you can’t use your person any more. Hope you did something meaningful with your life. No you can not have extra HP. That’s for winners. Make a new character. DO IT!
UPGRADING TIERS
PETS
After much deliberation and argument for you guys on Adams part. We’ve decided you can get a pet/familiar. Because apparently telling you try harder isn’t very nice. Nor is it an effective use of your time. I hope you’re all pleased. Thanks for ruining my fun.
Level 4; You are now eligible to receive a familiar/baby animal of the Admins choosing. We shall decide what you get based on your character. If you have suggestions or requests, sucks for you. You can feel free to message us but it won't make any difference to me. Adam might actually think about it. What a good guy. See pet/familiar guide for more details.
Level 9; Your pet learns a Tier 2 Nothing funny or mean here.
Level 12; Your pet learns its Tier 3.
Level 16; Your pet learns its Tier 4. It’s done growing. It’s all down hill from here.
Learning new techniques
To learn new techniques points are necessary but not sufficient. This means that you do need points, but you must also write them into the plot. The plot must be consistent, and quality. If you want to learn some new super awesome technique you don’t get to just practice it for a few hours or talk to some guru for a bit. You must learn it and spend the time required to master it. Even if you find your super awesome sword/dagger/gavagai in a chest somewhere, you must still learn its nature and how to use it.
Side note for mages. You do not have to replace your spells by unlearning them. You simply keep them in your book.
