Half Elves
While many elves either remained in their forest or decided to try and dominate the world, there were those who felt a calling for peace and unity among the races, inspired by the Hero of Ira and his efforts to unite the world.
As such, they began to forge families with humans.
Unfortunately, many of offspring ended up being initially rejected by both societies. The sort of thing that tends to happen after a bloody war. In the modern era, there are many High Elf ambassador's with human spouses and half elf children, but without their High Elf parents around, they tend to be abandoned and shunned by the High Elves. Humans are more accepting, but there are still many for whom old wounds will not close.
The half elves do not have their own cities, although they are usually accepted amongst the common elves. Rarely, if the blood is considered noble enough they may be able to be adopted by a High Elf family, but even then they will be seen more as servants and occasionally soldiers. Never anything more. Half elves will also live among humans, depending on the city. Some humans consider any racial mixture to be an abomination. Others see them for thinking they are better than others, similar to the way they would view other elves. Most of the time half elves are looked down upon, but recently they have become to be more widely accepted. Some cities value their friendship and charisma, using them as ambassadors to other races. Others see their human mind for adaptation and elven agility as an excellent addition to their thieves guild. Over all, it depends on the individual person, as well as their neighbors.
