Be polite.
This has been talked about it other sections of rules, but we really want to emphasise this point. Be professional, and polite and all that good stuff. If you have a problem, message an Admin, so we don’t have a dispute, they tend to bring everyone down. This whole thing also leads into language. A few swear words are fine but if every word out of your characters mouth is profanity, we might need to have a talk. Keep the racial slurs out. Also, this is maybe a fantasy world, but no sex scenes. Keep that to yourselves. You’d think it’d go without saying, but you’d be surprised what you’ll find.
No interfering
Don’t just put yourself into other peoples stories. Ask first, sometimes people just want to write their own plots. So, ask before you play.
No God Modding.
Again, this has been mentioned before. You CANNOT control other peoples characters unless they have specifically stated it in the previous post in the thread. There will be no general rules for people. For example. Say your buddy buddy with someone and your characters are bestest of friends and you personally are OK with them doing whatever they want with your characters, that still DOES NOT MAKE IT OK! As previously said, you have to clearly state its happening.
This is a Team Game
This means that if you are working with another person, or many other people, you don’t get to decide what everyone else is doing. If it’s your plot, then you can guide it, but again, you don’t get to make people do stuff.
Plots
So we’d love for you guys to submit your own stories and plots and ideas for Sagas and Epic things. But you have to submit it to an Admin so we can tweak it and make sure it follows all the rules.
So we are trying something unique in this as far as plots go so I’ll explain it here.
We have created a sort of quest board where there will be a number of pre-made plots you can select from. These plots will be open to any number of people you would like to invite to go along with you. There will be varying levels of difficulty on the board which will be displayed as follows;
Tenderfoot
Beginner,
Easy,
Medium,
Intermediate,
Hard,
Very Hard,
You Will Die
GIANT BATTLE OF EXTREMELY INSANE.
The stories on this quest board will be smaller plots that, with the exception of the higher level ones, will be relatively small and have no larger affect on the world aside from your immediate companions. Now, in order to make this a little more interesting than just making up NPC’s as you go, we will be implementing what will be essentially a Dungeon Master. This person will be in charge of the plots and since they are in charge, they will not be allowed to participate in said quest. So for now these DM’s will only be Admins. As we go along and we feel that you are capable of being a DM and following the rules and guidelines that come along with being a DM some of you may be able to take up this role. We will approach you when we’re ready, so don’t ask. The DM’s will be awarded points at the end of it based on a collective group response to how the people involved in the plots feel the DM performed. Basically, it’ll be peer evaluation. Each person in the plot, will be asked to submit on a 1-10 scale how well they feel the DM did to an Admin, and we will award points accordingly.
So now we move back to your submitted plots. If you would like to submit a plot message an Admin with an outline of you’re plot and we’ll take a look at it and see how it works. If we feel it’s not going to work we’ll let you know. If however we think it’s a brilliant idea, you will have two choices. You can either DM yourself, and you’ll be awarded points for creating the plot as well as DMing it or, you can turn it over to an Admin and you’ll get points for participation as well as coming up with the idea. Remember that if you’re going to DM you character cannot be included.
If you choose to submit a plot and it is accepted please keep it to yourself. Don’t tell the other players your the master mind behind it. This keeps people from trying to pull information from you or reading into your characters actions too much. We will of course give you credit once the plot has been completed.
Finally, if you’re going to submit a plot and play in it remember not to give anything away to the rest of the people, we don’t want to spoil your hard work.
Sagas: Sagas are widespread events that affect the whole board. As previously stated, at first sagas will be created and controlled by admins. However, if you have an idea, you can submit it and we will run it. After we know your capabilities, we will allow you to run the saga, but you must give us a basic outline. If you wish to be involved in a saga, submit the entire synopsis to the admins and we will run the plot for you. You will be given points for creating the plot, but not for participating.
Absences/Vacation: If you know you are not going to be around, please remove yourself from the plots if possible and post the details on the vacation board. This way we know if we should expect you to be involved/if we should bug your character.
If you come back from vacation, you may only rejoin the plot if the leader give permission and you can write yourself to be included in a consistent manner. In other words, get permission and wait for an appropriate time to rejoin. (No miraculous arrivals in the middle of an epic battle just in time to save your friends from being dinner for Grazcrock the Mighty... not that you could. Grazcrock is beyond your feeble abilities.)
If you leave mid plot without notifying someone in an acceptable period of time, you may be penalized at the admin’s discretion.
