Quest Board
So, Adam and myself have learned from previous mistakes. One mistake being too much free reign to do whatever you want. We thought it would be fun. But experience teaches us, most people are lazy. So we have created a Quest Board where lazy people, or special snowflakes, as Adam calls them, can come and choose what to do. As time goes on you will all slowly level up, unless you die. (I might chuckled a bit there) As you do get stronger we shall create more difficult and challenging quests to represent your various skill levels. Between my desire to kill you all, and Adam’s never ending love for each of you, you might just get to survive.
The way you claim a quest is pretty simple.
1) Look on the quest board and select a quest.
2) Create a new thread with the name as whichever quest you’ve chosen. This can only be done on the main section of quests. The sub-boards are locked for Admin use only.
3) You may ask for people to come with you. Request specific people to play with you. (You may not request specific Admins. You get who get. Deal with it snowflakes).
4) You must now wait for either DM One or DM Two to come along and approve your request.
5) Go from there.
Each quests difficulty shall be represented on scale of Tenderfoot to You Will Die.
Each quest will have a few things. Let’s make a basic example so you can understand. Quests shall look as follows;
Quest Name; Goblin Hunt
Quest Level; Tenderfoot
Reward XP; 100
Number of Players Allowed; 1-10
Description: In a nearby cave there is a tribe of vicious and ugly little Goblins. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to clear out this cave. You will be greatly rewarded with 100 gold pieces and any loot you find on your journey. Your quest starts in an inn in the town of Jeffty. Where the innkeeper Jeff shall set you on your path. Once your quest is completed to will return to Jeff the innkeeper to claim your reward.
So each quest shall have those basic things. Quest Level, Name, Reward XP, number of players and a description. A few thing will vary from quest to quest. Xp is one of them. The amount of XP rewarded shall be determined by the quality of your post. By quality we mean a few things. Length, depth, endurance, attention to detail. How well you work with others. And you to finish. If you are especially good, we may even reward with something extra spiffy. Ohhhh, surprises. Your quest XP must split evenly between the number of people who a part of that post.
Yes we understand some people do not always carry their weight. But we shall be doling our loot based on your personal, intimate and individual contributions to the story. So, try or you get nothing.
As with the larger quests which affect world matters, these quest board stories will have an Admin Dm to take up the roll of all of the NPCs. Now, you have to use a little bit of intelligence here. This is where I think you're screwed, but Mr Loving has faith in you all. Each of you will have varying degrees of experience. Some have written before, some have DnD experience. So we assume each of you will approach posting differently. Keep a few things in mind and we will be all good.
1) For those of who have played DnD, you CANNOT talk to the DM. You cannot ask if you are allowed to do stuff. You cannot interrupt other people’s turns.
2) On the subject of turns. You may not post twice until each person you are playing with has posted. So, learn to anticipate your friends, enemies, and the DM.
3) RESPOND TO EVERYTHING. By this we mean if I hit you with a baseball bat upside the head. You must respond to it or it is considered an auto hit. Also, be specific to what you're responding to.
4) TAKE IT LIKE A MAN! No god modding. You will not be able to dodge everything. Be realistic about your characters abilities and skills. If you’re a tank don't be afraid to get hit. If we catch you god modding there will be. This is one of the few things we are really serious about. So, just behave.
5) Do not argue with the DMs. For now we’re all Admins so behave. Or you’ll be put on time out in the corner and I will personally see to it that you get a dunce hat. I’m just nice like that.
6) Be respectful to your other players. Just don't be a jerk.
This board will be updated regularly and we will try our best to keep it original or at least interesting. But please remember it’s just the two us so it may take time to respond.
For any other questions on how to play please read the “WHAT TO DO” section.
On a side note, please remember you don't just have to do quests. You can make up your own stuff to do if you choose so long as it doesn't effect the world at a large. We will step in if needed, but again don't feel restricted to just quests.
