High Elf and Dwarf Tensions
It's not mystery that since the end of the war tensions have been high between the Dwarves and High Elves. While things seemed to be getting better, tensions have begun to grow as trade policy between the two proud Races changes.
The High Elves recently began selling dwarven minerals at an increased mark-up. When asked why, Trelenor Abernor, the Head of the Fairlands Trade Commission, claimed that Dwarves had begun to charge more for basic minerals due to shortage. When investigations showed that Dwarven Mines were at an all time high for production, the people became unruly.
"It's an outrage," says one anonymous wizard in Alvalor, "how can I run my potion shop when the mineral prices keep rising? I can't hope to compete with human imports at this rate."
When asked again about the current state of the mines, Abernor stated, "If there is one thing we know it is that our Dwarven cousins have a taste for riches."
Here is where the story gets interesting though. Dwarves have reported no increase in funds or rates.
"We've no need for Elven riches other than trade," says Gorift Helmsmith, "and we certainly haven't been getting any pay bumps."
We will have more as the story develops.
Murder in Durmstaldt
It has been one month since Durmstaldt authorities found the body of 18 year old half-elf Isabelle Aleona and there has been no sign or clue of the culprit since.
When questioned Isabelle's older brother Tristan insisted it was a mage, but so far investigations have yielded no clues. That is until recently. More bodies have begun to pile up in Durmstaldt, and while missing people has always been high in Durmstaldt, never have so many bodies been found.
"The curious thing about this is that its as if whoever is doing this wants us to find the body," says Guardsman Hector Crosslin.
When asked if the current string of murders and that of Aleona were connected, Crosslin stated "The murders seemed to be of different types. Both were magical, but Isabelle was left more or less in tact. These bodies are being disemboweled and covered in runes to the point where we can't identify them."
Durmstaldt authorities are currently offering rewards for anyone with information on these murders as well as the uncanny disappearance of cheese.
