Sturmhalla was the forefront of the Elven-Dwarf War. Throughout the entirety of the war High Elf mages and warriors battled countless brave dwarves in an attempt to close off trade and have a direct route to the dwarven capital.
While the elves did make their way in to the great city, they never managed to take control.
The intensity of the battles is what inspired the name for the great city. Sturmhalla literally means "Storm Hall".
Located at the eastern base of Helsig's Teeth North-West of Lorelie's Respite, it is by far the easiest Dwarven city to find. The entrance is located halfway up on of the smaller peaks of Helsig's Teeth and leads into the subterranean city. Many imports and exports for Gloreft are delivered here in order to avoid the complicated route to Gloreft.
Dwarven runners are constantly navigating between the two with deliveries, often times in guarded caravan's to protect themselves from the beasts within the caves, and as the closest city to the outside world, and easiest to access, there are many dwarves from Sturmhalla who decide to try life outside the mountains and begin their own trade route.
While not as big as Gloreft, the population is very close. On a given day there can be as many as 12,000 residents, traders and ambassadors, as well as the occasional adventurer looking to get his or her gear as close to the source as possible.
Sturmhalla does get a lot of it's crafts from Gloreft, however it does have it's own talented smiths, many of whom trained in Gloreft to increase the turn over of repairs and lower shipping time.
