So Brenden makes his way to this rather durmmy looking staldt of a city and wonders what it's called. Perplexed to the max he starts to crave cheese really bad. So bad that he doesn't even notice there was a person laying on the ground until he trips over a noble looking knight. As he starts to apologize he realizes several very important things; the knight is dead, all of his cheese rations in his bag are completely gone somehow, and he is now covered in a very noble looking knights blood. Hopefully this won't go too poorly for silly old Brenden.

Unfortunately, it does not go well for Brenden.
"Over here men!" comes a call.
The sound of hooves grows louder as several knights come across the dirty, stinky, and now blood covered elf.
"Halt!" shouts one of the knights at Brenden.

Brenden halts and says hello to the knights. Perhaps they'll direct him to a local bath house and a cheese store. Or maybe they'll draw their swords and tie him up and try and figure out why Brenden is covered in so much blood. Perhaps there will be fire and hot pokers in bumbums involved. Hmmmm... Just as a precaution he draws his staff and readies a potion. The potion is green.

"Sweet Mother of Aurelius!" shouts one of the guards, "It's Sven!"
The guards immediately glare at Brenden.
"You!" shouts the only guard who appears to have a voice at the moment, "Disarm yourself and tell us what has happened here!"
The guards all have their hands on their swords, ready to draw them at a moment's notice.
They are not happy.

Noticing his stupid looking satyr is nowhere near Brenden decides fighting is not a great choice and drops his staff and potion. He then says Hey man. I was just looking for cheese so I walked to this city but then I tripped over this dude and tried to help him but he's dead and stuff. Do you guys know where some cheese is?

"The man you claim to have found dead was an honorable knight! As for the cheese, dark magic appears to be at work, we'll have to ask you to come with us and tell us all you know."

Tristan had been asleep further away, but against his better judgement he went back to check on the body. From a distance he saw a pitiful looking person being reprimanded by the guards.
His initial reaction was to think that the guards would waste time looking for evidence that this man killed Sven, giving him a head start on escaping.
Then he could almost feel Isabelle scolding him, filling his head with doubt. After all, anyone could have killed Sven. He had used his dagger for just that purpose.
"Damn it!" he cursed to himself.
He approached the knights, and there was no doubt they could see him now. Even if they didn't suspect him for the murder of Sven, they would recognize him by reputation.
"This man is innocent," said Tristan somberly.

Unfortunately for everyone around Brenden's staff Decay chose to misfire at that exact moment. It didn't hit anyone but it surprise Brenden so bad he jumped a foot in the air and he sprained his ankle falling down. A bit more unfortunately the bolt of luminescent energy hit the potion Brenden dropped. Necrotic energy mixed with the chemicals and smoke started pouring forth until the area was almost completely obscured by smoke. Brenden says whoops.

( OOC I am taking over Muahaha!)
The three Knights had known Sven for many years; the group had even trained with the younger fallen Knight back at the Academy. They would not stand for his murder. But just as they started to move to apprehend both men the odd staff exploded. With smoke quickly filling the area one of the men fell to the ground, chocking and gasping desperately for air. He was dead in moments. The two remaining Knights, a bit wiser and more battle hardened quickly covered their faces and retreated out from the cloud of smoke.
"Damn them," cursed one of the Knights, a man by the name of Boris, a large burly man from the Northern regions. "I shall have their heads on spikes!" he roared, drawing his sword fully as he did so. "Calm yourself Boris," said the smaller of the two remaining Knights, a half elf by the name of Tanis. "I'm sorry Tanis," murmured the large Knight. "But we can't allow them to escape," he said, his face still a bright red from the coughing. "We won’t," said Tanis, reaching for the horn all commanding officers worse. This strange pair had messed with the wrong order. Bringing the ivory horn to his lips the half elf let out three bellowing blasts from the horn. One to let them know they had found a crime in progress. Two for the murder. And three to request immediate back up. Tucking the horn back into the belt Tanis looked calmly at the Smokey area in front of him, trying to make out any silhouettes of the pair.
"If you step forward now and drop your weapons I can personally promise that no harm will come to you. However if you resist you will be run down by the reinforcements now on their way. Surrender yourself and we promise a fair trial!" yelled Tanis .

Ever the survivalist, Tristan readies to make a break for it, then his conscience once again gets the better of him. He can't just leave the clumsy fool to die.
Tristan offers his hand to the smelly elf to help pull him up. By the way he fell it looks like he might have a hard time walking, but maybe at least one of them can get away in time.

Taking the hand of his dashing savior Brenden is ready to put his life in his hands. He can't explain why but he feels like he can just trust this handsome fellow. Brenden Manages to get up with Tristan's help and then promptly falls down again in a preemptive dodge of whatever attack the guards are sending his way. Or at least that's how he's going Pretend it happened.

(OOC right so because I am SO behind in posting I SUPPOSE the right thing to do would be letting you go. -sigh- Oh well such plans)
Much to the knights dismay the wind picked up sharply flooding the two men's faces with the noxious fumes sending them stumbling backwards. Eyes burning and chest heaving as the pair struggled to find some fresh breathable air. Wrapping their faces in clothes once more Tanis and Boris pushed their way through the smoke and trees finding a clear and open space. "DAMN THEM!" roared Boris. "I want them DEAD!" he growled, body tensing as he resisted the urge to charge back through the smoke and kill the fugitives where they stood. "Calm yourself Boris," started Tanis. "We'll return to the city. We have accurate descriptions now, there's no way they'll be able to get into the city. Within an hour we'll have mustered a sizable force and we'll hunt them down like the dogs they are. I promise my friend, Sven's death will be avenged and this time we'll have the full force of the Academy behind us." Sheathing their blades the pair quickly made their way back to the city.
(OOC right so it's been a little bit since i've written much so I apologize if the writing is a bit sloppy. But I'll get back into the swing of things soon. So you have an hour. I'd book it if I were you two cuz uh otherwise I'll kill you both. You know, nicely of course.)

(OOC: Finally!)
As the dirty mage falls back down Tristan immediately pulls him back up.
"Run you idiot!" he yells as he pulls the elf's arm and begins to run as fast as he can.
As he pulls the elf he also notices a very foul smell, which he really hopes is Brenden's smoke bomb. Too bad for Tristan...

Using that quick elven agility Brenden is so famous for he does a ballerina pirouette and flamboyantly prances after Tristan and immediately trips over his own two feet through a bush and into a pond completely washing away any foul smells Brenden may or may not possess. Standing up cursing to himself he sees a hidden path. Motioning to Tristan he suggests they go down it.

(OOC: Pretty sure there's nothing for the DM to respond with at this moment, let me know if you do, until then I shall keep going without you. Jump back in whenever.)
Tristan watches as the elf twirls after him and is both impressed an confused. Of course, the feeling of being impressed leaves as soon as Brenden stumbles through the bush and into the pond. As if it wasn't bad enough Tristan had gotten stuck with an elf, he had to pick what may be the only clumsy elf in existence.
The blunder seems to pay off though as Brenden finds the hidden path.
"I'll lead," whispers Tristan, "watch closely and follow my steps so you don't trip again. Those knights could still be searching for us."
Tristan begins to carefully move through the path, holding his skirt up to avoid dirtying it any further while watching for any traps or snares a hunter may have left. As he watches his steps for any stray branches or twigs that may make too much noise, he notices how tattered his dress has become. Isabelle would be furious. He'll need to find a seamstress. His hand rests on his sword, ready to draw it at a moment's notice.
